Gossamer Blue | May kit, "Pink Blossoms"...

Hello again friends, I have another layout share for you today... and boy, are you going to love the kit contents from Gossamer Blue's May kits. holy WOW!

Cobalt blue and dark pink... SWOON! I couldn't resist pairing these two colors together to complete my page. I wanted to use the entire sheet of cardstock but wasn't for sure how I was going to do so after I had used the vertical frame from the digital files. Alas, I figured, how cool would it be to have the title peaking through the negative space I cut out. And so I did. No, it's not an intervention, but I like when I can create a page without wasting paper, utilizing every bit of it as much as I possibly could.

I documented about my three favorite flowers growing in our yard and I how I'm not much of a pink kind of girl, but has grown to love and appreciate the color... blame it all on my little lady ;) I love fresh flowers and how they truly brighten up a room and my mood. Their fresh aroma is refreshing, too. So, I deepened the photo images a bit for a more rich color to closely match the pink title treatment area. Set them behind the vertical frame and added dimension to them with a title banner for each flower. Cut out title with Cameo and lined it up as closely as possible so the patterns matched and added the large teal paper flower to balance out the bit of teal color throughout the page. The page had too much white space, so I filled it in with spots of white paint.... kind of like how artsy it looks with the paint spattered about. Breaks up the dark blue a bit, too.

Happy creating... xo!!!

Gossamer Blue | 45...

As many of you already know, my birthday has soon passed and this blogpost is a bit late... it's all good because I spent the week ( and weekend) celebrating with my friends and family :) I had a really great time, relaxing, playing, drinking, eating lots and lots of cake and spent a portion of my Sunday recovering. I have been going through some personal things over the last several months... mentally and physically. And I think I am finally coming out of that funk and realizing 45 is truly just a number and that I can no longer sweat the small stuff. The mental and physical changes to this aging body of mine will not defeat me... it's challenging. But I'm staying positive.

That all said, I love when a layout comes together so quickly. Especially when there are plenty of amazing products to create with. As you can see, I used nothing buy words, and numbers to embellishment my page, with a few accents and journaling on the side. Very simple, straight forward and to the point. Read more on my Gossamer Blue blogpost from last Friday... xo!

Gossamer Blue | she's so fab...

It's never a dull moment when one begins creating with an amazing kit from Gossamer Blue each month and the March kit was just that.... A M A Z I N G! Everything about the kit screamed spring with lots of soft pastel colors and bold embellishments to boot.

The "You Are So Rad." digital file made creating my main kit layout so easy and fast! I am not a fast scrapper, it takes me more than an hour to make a page... sometimes a few days. It really shouldn't take longer than an hour or two. But sometimes it just does, at least for me. I found these images of my girl last month and knew they were perfect for this page. I went with b&w since the original photo colors were bold. I love the soft background with b&w images anyway. Once I printed out the large title for my page and backed it up with the gold scripted pattern paper, the photos were anchored off to the side. I used very little embellishment to decorate the page, because I didn't want them to overwhelm the page. A definite fave layout by far!

If you haven't, be sure to pick up your kit TODAY, before they are all gone!!!! Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy working with your Gossamer Blue kit as much as I did... xo!

Gossamer Blue | keeping warm...

well, looks like we here in VA are finally being hit with a cold blast of winter. i'm a little bummed about it. i mean, i love winter time when the fireplace is roaring out heat, i get to add to my scarf collection or i find an excuse not to leave the house when it's below 35 degrees. but old man winter has spoiled us with 40 and 50 degree temps that these 30 and 11 degree temps are just not fun. oh well, i can't complain too much, since we don't have to worry about -0 degree temps or lower, huh?!

so, i have another layout share using Gossamer Blues January kits... this one was made using a mix of pretty papers and embellies from the main kit add-ons and life pages kit add-ons. i even tossed in a bit of gold... can never get tired of adding gold elements to my pages.

the layout encompasses a simple negative space affect using words describing the goodness in a cup of hot chocolate my kids enjoy after a few hours playing in the snow. the color palette is left neutral so to not lose focus on the photos, randomly placed, tucked behind the pages foundation page. adore Tyler's smile and Corinne's relaxed mood.

thanks for stopping by... xo!

Gossamer Blue | January is here...

oh happy happy happy NEW YEAR!!!

i'm super excited it's 2015 and so ready to start the new year off right with lots and lots of creativity. today's creative project share, a layout pumped with rich, bold colors that i am so stoked about. when my Gossamer Blue kit arrived, i was giddy all over with excitement. yes, it's all about color and patterns for me. that makes me happy and dude, accenting it all with little bits of gold just made my day even better :)

one of the highlights of last year was playing out in the snow with my littles. i felt like a little kid and we all had a great time. i love that they were just as excited as i to capture a few selfies, without the attitude.... monumental! i'm taking all of what i can get because as they get older, selfies with mom is becoming slim to none.

i went many directions with this page. i really wanted to use a lot of pattern papers on my page with a twist in design. so i played with angles and lines and textures. once the design was set, my sewing machine was put to work. sewing made the page a little pillow-y, but it was all good. and... i finally stocked up on some vellum the previous month, so i am uber excited to add vellum accents to my page now. it's such a great accent to any page, i love how it breaks up the boldness of the colors on the page, softens it up. my favorite page thus far for the year.

be sure to pick up your own kit.. the January main kit ROCKS!! packed with lots of fun goodies and papers to start the new year off right, creatively... and it looks like this kit is sold out... YES!!

...xo!

Gossamer Blue | us...

this months project share is featured over at Gossamer Blue, a couples layout. something i rarely scrapbook because we rarely snap "selfies" or have them taken of us. so this was nice to dive into a layout project US! read more about the project on the GB blog...

GB | colorful circles...

this weeks layout share is another created for Gossamer Blue! June kits were filled with lots of bold colors and elements and of course, i took advantage of all the bits and pieces to create this page.

i used a mix of add-on and life pages add-on kits to complete this page design. Photos used are random, from my photo stash that were already printed. if printed photos in my stash have a purpose, i try to use them on a layout or project i have in mind. i don't like wasting printed photos.

adored all the circle embellishments and stickers this month. i've been wanting to do something like this for a while and finally was inspired. there was a great assortment of colors, which made this page that much easier to put together.

thanks for taking a peek, hope you have a lovely day... xo!

Gossamer Blue | she's so lovely...

hello again... i'm always amazed and pleasantly surprised when my GB page arrives. it's like Christmas or even birthday every monthly and i get so giddy when i go through everything and find an abundance of joy tucked into each bag... it's pure joy!

Junes main kit and digital cut files are fabulous and couples perfect with this months color palette. i opted to use the woodgrain pattern paper to showcase the images of my girl, smiling so pretty in the mirror-during one of our many shopping trips to Ikea.

the images were not so great. way too much yellow and a weird green color in the background of the images. so i toned down the color without losing character. looks so much better. plus, i'm a sucker for pops of color on a page... loved the teals, yellows and orange with the woodgrain background.

thanks for stopping by and i truly hope you've had a chance to pick up one of Junes amazing kits, if not more... you'll be creating for days, there's so much goodness :)

gossamer blue | the extra's...

every year i get to hang out with my two girlfriends, Becky and Robyn, and we scrapbook for a good four days. our days are filled creating lots of projects like, cards, mak-n-takes, techniqes, sketch challenges, plan a page, layouts, etc. we are definitely busy and it's always a good time! the fifth day is spent shopping and helping each other plan future pages. during our recent annual scrappy get together last month, i was able to work on a few assignments that were in the works but never finished b/c i had creative block. so, of course, i had the pleasure of bouncing ideas off of them.

here are the rest of my layouts i made using Gossamer Blue's fabulous April main kits & life pages kits...

"Happy Day"

third layout "Frayed" was total bonus, based off this April PageMaps sketch...

thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day... xo!

gossamer blue | April '14, all boy...

happy April!!

as many of you may know, last week, Gossamer Blue's website crashed, which made it difficult to make purchases. in addition to the site crash, Lori, was admitted to the hospital for several days due to a ruptured appendix. she is back home in recovery mode... so, please keep her in your thoughts and/or prayers for a speedy recovery back to better health.

the site is back up and running and April kits are still available! this months kits are filled with plenty of embellishments and pretty papers to get those creative juices flowing! lots of diversity this month, which made it even more fun to create layouts. i ESPECIALLY loved this month because there was a good mix of both boy & girl products; and i couldn't get enough of all the boy collections by October Afternoon & Crate Paper. this layout created uses a good mix of product using the main kit, digital die-cut files and printables.

be sure to grab your April kits TODAY! you don't want to miss out!

Gossamer Blue | march projects...

guten tag! playing a little catch up today. it's another day and i have another layout, or two rather, to share with you! all using Gossamer Blue's March kits which have all sold out! YEAH! that's always exciting. the kits are so pretty! all the pinks and golds and silver tones a girl could ask for. i loved it and really enjoyed using all of it on my pages this month.

my first layout, "Lucky Me" using all products from this months main kit and digital cut files.i used my Cameo to cut out the rainbow and outlined it w/ the foiled twin. the gold clouds with raindrops added the perfect touch along side my title.

and finally, my second page, "Dinner at Fuji" uses a mix of goodness from add-ons and life pages kits... during one of our trips to Stamford, CT we enjoyed Asian fare at one of my husbands favorite places to eat. the food was so good and presented perfectly. the kids loved trying new things, which is always a plus!

thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely day & stay warm... xo!

OLW | grow...

since 2011, i began documenting my one little word (i love the idea behind it...) into a layout and i continue to keep up the tradition. there were so many words that came to mind. but the one word that hung around in my thoughts those last few months last year the most was GROW. in 2014, my goal is to grow educationally, financially, physically, creatively, spiritually - continue growing as a parent, wife and friend.

i created this layout using minimal products with Gossamer Blue January kits and i'm sharing a few super simple techniques on how it all came together. so stop by the GB blog...
