PageMaps | Hello December...

Can you believe it's already December and Christmas is just 3.5 weeks away? WOW, 2015 sure has flown by miraculously! Well, I don't know about you, but I am more than halfway done with my Christmas shopping. Super excited about that. Just a few more gifts to get and I'm good. But of course, that Christmas photo has yet to be snapped and now we just need to take a few moments our busy lives and get it done.

My December PageMaps sketch layout showcases our forever last minute Christmas card photo. How last minute? January 1, 2016 last minute. Yup, the day before all the holiday trimming were going to be boxed up, I grabbed the kids, Nala and festive holiday hats and snapped a few pictures and viola! It worked and was sent out to all our family and friends. Last year was an extremely, and unexpected busy time for us. But I didn't want to go without sending a little love and holiday cheer to our family and friends!

I kept with the color inspiration from my photo. Trimmed the main photo and phrase from our Christmas cards and used a mix of holiday elements that conveyed my themed layout. Love how it turned out, especially working with a unique layout sketch designed by Becky at PageMaps.

Thanks so much for stopping by this month. Wishing you and your family a lovely and happy Christmas... Cheers :)

PageMaps | November goodness...

Good morning crafty friends!

I'm am super happy about this months layout sketch and digital cut files! First off, cut files from The Cut Shoppe by Ashley Horton are fantastic. so much to choose from in a huge variety of design styles. Loved being able to create with her creations. And of course, PageMaps November sketch layout is so awesome, perfect for what I had in mind. Plus, I can never get enough of grids, yes!

For my project, I used the Get Your Grid On and Say Anything digital cut files; perfect for the sketch layout I selected. I loved the theme of the grid file tons... since I'm addicted to Instagram. My layout is all about my little girl with images of her I've shared on my Instagram feed over the past year or two. Always fun seeing your kids personality shine through and I loved the ones I used for her page. I also used some a-ma-zing Summer Red Raspberry Soup papers and embellishments by Jillibean Soup. Super cute paper and I especially love their alphabet vellum and stickers. Perfect accents to go along with my layout theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by... be sure to check out Ashley's The Cut Shoppe. You'll find a lot of awesome designs to add to your next scrapbooking project... xo!

PageMaps | back to school...

Happy September!

So many young ones started school back in August and well, ours aren't due back until September 8th. I'll admit, I'm looking forward to the school year routine, but not the morning routine of getting ready for school. that is always challenging. Them being back in school will also mean a quiet house, more homework and after school activities. Soccer and swimming are back in full swing... I love watching them interact in sport activities and watching them grow in strength and endurance. It's so good for them. I will truly miss their presence at home during the day.

This months PageMaps sketch layout documents last years back to school memories. That year changed everything when little man entered into middle school and no more riding buses together with his sister. Totally changes the dynamics of our daily routine and life in general.

My interpretation of this months sketch was to use the circle template to set my background foundation. I love circles a lot and love the idea of using this grid for my pictures, title treatment and journaling area to anchor the background. Journaling is interactively tucked inside card and adorned with tags and puffy stickers for accents. The "camera" pattern paper was just perfect for the occasion to boot. I used blue, red and white enamel dots as accents around the images, to simplify the design.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping... cheers :)

Gossamer Blue | February kits, all about the girl...

another great month of fabulousness all in one package... the Gossamer Blue February did not disappoint. the color palette floored me with all the deep blues, browns and splashes of pinks, yellows, reds, greys, etc. loved every bit of it. i'm huge into color and love how Lori's mind creates a wonderful color palette inside each monthly kit... LOVE!

first up, my page using products from the main kit only was pretty simple and almost obvious for me. as soon as i saw the camera pattern paper, i ran to my computer (literally) and started gathering photos of my girl from the first six months of last year. sized each image small enough to punch out w/ a small circle punch. the best part about this page, is that it took just under an hour to complete and it's my favorite! i'm really into hidden journaling... because i really like having the overall design take center stage. but i also am one who creates a page without the thought of a journaling spot until the last minute, ha!

my second layout was created using a mix of life page kits and add-ons plus some main kit and add-ons. and it was clear that i had to put my cameo to work and use those stamps! i sized the instax camera to fit my photo and pop-dotted it to the page, after i cut out the large title with a clean font. backed each word with different patterns and added a bit of the floral yellow pattern paper to add a touch of femininity to the page. i like the dark brown and yellow with the dark blue camera. and i took advantage of the heart stamps... LOVE me some hearts ;) mixed them up and adorned some with wood veneer hearts. used archival pen to add journaling. definitely a fun page to put together.

thanks so much for stopping by this month. i truly enjoyed working the February kits and hope you do, too. if you're not a member, be sure to sign up for our scrapbook kit club or life pages kit club or if you just want to buy when you please, have fun shopping and pick up a few kits. there are still some left for the picking... xo!

PageMaps | February sketch, boy scouts...

hello and happy February! i'm super late and trying to catch up on everything. January flew a lot quicker than it normally does. but i'm glad this month is here... just means Spring is that much closer, YES!

so, this months sketch is changed up with an 8.5x11 page. completely inspired by the circle element in the design. i had it all laid out to create exactly as the sketch, but then after much thought, i decided to transform the circles by adding them to page to create a bit of motion. the green like border is created using my small circle punch... randomly tucked them behind the larger pattern background. then everything else just fell into place.

this layout brought back great memories Ty and i had during his cub/boy scout days. he's no longer doing this anymore and i do miss the adventures he would have, but it's all good. everyone goes through a phase of what they want to do in their lives. i'm just glad to have finally sit down and document this moment in his life, crossing that bridge.

...xo!
