WITL | day 7...
the last and final day... our day of relaxation!
i used today to rest my ankle. the week was long, busy and productive, yet FUN! so i pretty much just sat around with my feet up. days like today are much needed... everyone was up a little 7am (that's sleeping in for me) and about 40 images captured today...
Tyler grabbed the paper for me and complained about having to do it then he quickly ran upstairs to watch Catching Fire all while giving me the third degree about taking his picture...ha!
walked passed the mans office and he's busy playing a game, all bundled up in his thick sweater... Nala chewing on her rawhide bone.
i sat to watch the new Transformers movie, which i loved, with my cup of coffee and Sunday paper i have yet to read still and we enjoyed bacon sandwiches for breakfast.
Nala napping while i watched my 3rd movie... i know. while i relaxed off my feet, Tim & Corinne took the time to put my Ikea cart together for me. that was a huge help. so sweet of them...
Tyler sat on the floor to watch a Netflix movie w/ me and Corinne rolled my her AG dolls around the house in my cart.
found more of Corinnes toys chillin inside my cart while she was playing a game on my tablet...
Tried convincing Tyler to help w/ a few things downstairs, but he bailed and so the man and i ventured outside to clean up the garden beds...
it's expected to freeze overnight... harvesting all the sweet potatoes and tomatoes was imperative...
my sage bush is three or four years old. it has survived many winters and sprung back like crazy. but, it's taking over my herb garden. the dirt in front is where i removed the small thyme bush that was being hovered by the sage bush and replanted it on the back side. then we went out front to plant some tulip bulbs (so last minute) and hope they make it and blossom nicely in the spring...
our yard lighting hasn't been working well lately, so Tim cleaned up the tops and here is our big bucket of veggies we harvested. a batch of beets didn't turn out but i have some in the fridge already that did very well.
back inside i enjoyed a couple of truffles i bought at the farmers market Saturday...crazy amazing good; watched a movie w/ the kids and prepared dinner...
thanks to for taking a peek in this weeks WITL project... xo!
WITL | day 6...
Saturday was super cold, windy and wet! a day where i'd normally be inside relaxing, watching a few movies or binging on episodes i've missed over the past week. but instead, i decided to spend the day out & about with my friend and the kids...
only about 25 to 30 images captured, i was being lazy on the photos today...
after waking, having a cup of coffee while editing photos, i quickly got dressed to spend the morning with my neighbor friend, Carolyn, we spent our morning shopping at the farmers market and warmed up over another cup of coffee at Starbucks... the caramel brulee... YUMMY! so sweet and so good!
arrived home to find Tim helping Corinne sort through her trick or treating loot...
i had promised the kids i would take the shopping, since they missed out shopping for clothes and shoes before school... this was their moment. went to two different Kohl's until we found the right Adidas shoes Ty searched for via the web...
Corinne really liked the shoe w/ the heel... we didn't get it because she has enough shoes. it was all about clothes and a few accessories...
home to find my Etsy reader has arrived and then i had to snip off a loooonnnnnnggggg, strand of hair because we watched too much of the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and she thought it was a good idea to put gum behind her ear... sigh!!!
by the time we arrived home from shopping, we ate dinner. the boys then migrated onto the couch to watch the first Hunger Games (after not allowing him to watch this movie, he was stoked that he finally had permission to watch w/ his dad) and the girls quickly put on our jammies and lounged in bed to watch Hotel Transylvania with popcorn and carbonated liquid, ha!
the day was a great day! i really enjoyed spending quality time w/ my girlfriend and taking the kids out shopping. it's fun watching them pick out what they like and seeing how our styles are so different. and this time around, they had patience and made it that much more fun to shop without the bickering and whining to finish up... xo!

WITL | day 5...
phew... what a day! Friday was crazy busy and it was all worth it! i was super tired by the time we arrived home after 930 pm. my day started super early, like 430 early! WHOA! i don't know what was wrong w/ me. i guess the excitement of the day upcoming day and trying to complete a few things off my "list" was on the mind. didn't sleep much!
anyway, i captured over 70 images Friday. here are a few from our day...
trying a new brew & yes, it was strong! they boy wrapping himself up in his blanket, not wanting to get up and go to school. lots of tickling to get him out of bed.
new shower curtain we picked up at Ikea the day before... wanted to get something that worked for both the kids. Tyler heading off to school!
Corinne was a little slow moving this morning and she gets up as early as Tyler does. she tends to wander a bit, playing or drawing, which leads into rushing the last 15 minutes before the bus arrives. managed to whip up a bowl of steal cut oats w/ frozen blueberries and local honey...
drove her to school, since we were super late for the bus. home to clean up and work on some editing for a few projects i have going on at the same time and watched Kelly & Michael in the process.
at work today we assisted the designer (florist) prepare flowers and corsages for an upcoming wedding and a high schools homecoming.... this was fun!
i dashed over to Party City to pick up a costume.. so last minute! raced home to change and get the kids and i ready for the Halloween party.
Ty's best friend, Liam arrived and it was time for photos. picked up my friend Carolyn :) she rocked her costume, i love it so much! so fun!
while the adults played, the kids went off w/ teenagers to trick or treat... really fun night!!!
the waitress and Bob Seger... SO AWESOME!
Madonna w/ her producer and i just LOVE LOVE Mikes mini cocktail glasses...
i love a good Cab, but this Merlot was super delish!!! and yes, there was some REALLY good Tequila...
baby Lily arrived and was non-stop! love that girl! and the girls, us in all our glory :)
a very long day, but so much fun... xoxo!!

WITL | days1, 2 + 3...
it's that time again... well, i'm a little behind. but it's another Week in the Life project hosted and created by Ali Edwards. one of my all time favorite projects, next to scrapbooking, of course. lately, i have not been picking up my camera as much, but do try to use my camera phone. w/ this project, it allows me to really think about what we are doing regularly and documenting those moments captured through the lens. read more about the WITL here...
this time around, life is different.... Tyler is in middle school (6th grade), Corinne is a 2nd grader, i have a part-time job working at the local flower shop, a full-time metalsmith and still doing some scrapbooking dt work. the man, well, he's still going strong w/ Fuji and is in the midst of another home renovation project... the master bathroom (more on that later). oh, and our rescued greyhound, Nala has gained 10 lbs... WHOA! apparently, that is a lot for greyhounds. but hey, she's preparing for the cold season ahead.
anyway, when Monday arrived, i knew it was time for WITL, but quickly forgot. none the less, i managed to snap a few images each day. not as much as i would have liked though. i'm usually going strong the first half of the project. but the flower shop has been busy and i've been busy trying to complete orders and meet scrapbooking deadlines at the same time. w/ that said, i was able to spend a few hours to just relax at the computer - something i don't do as much anymore - and upload all my images, edit and share this post... i have days 1 - 3 and i averaged around 10 to 20 photos each day. super low for me. but really, it's great living in the moment! so here goes...
day 1...
early rise at 5am, hung out w/ Tyler and sent him off to school after 7am.
Corinne makes it downstairs and heads out a little late, but in time for the bus.
after a 30 minute workout and shower, i get dressed and spend most of my day at the flower shop.
printed packing slips for orders and grabbed a few snacks before heading out.
back home and into the garage i go to start working on a few custom orders and the main polishes up one of his hammer he made in back in grade school... so cool!
Tyler arrives home from school playing on his phone, totally not paying attention to Nala needing to come back inside and as usual, Corinne draws for a good hour before doing her homework.
Tyler at my desk, hiding from the camera, doing his homework, listening to webinar for his science class and i measured the kids... Ty grew 1/4" and Corinne grew 3/4".
after dinner... i passed out off and on, while watching Wheel of fortune and Jeopardy w/ the family. i was in bed by 830... so tired!!!
day 2...
today i was up at 415... couldn't go back to sleep. after waking kids up for school, i dressed and ate breakfast.
cleaned up the night before dishes (i usually don't do this, b/c i can't stand leaving dishes in the sink overnight, but i was extremely exhausted) and then cut out a hundred pillow boxes (packaging for my jewelry).
whipped up a green tropical smoothie before work and filled up my new favorite 32 oz. eco water bottle i bought from Tupperware.
dryer buzzed just before i walked out for work and snapped a quick selfie before heading in ;)
and just like that, no more photos. i ended up running errands for several hours and didn't really think about capturing the moment... arrived home, unloaded and spent the rest of the evening relaxing w/ the family before heading to bed early.
lastly, day 3...
early rise and began roasting my raw almonds (i can't eat almonds raw, have a slight reaction to them, so i roast them) and poured myself a cup of coffee (yes i am back to having ONE cup a day).
printed out mailing labels for orders and packed the kids lunch.
Corinne informing me how she will wear her hair on Halloween so it doesn't get in the way of her hoodie and punched out embossed labels for packaging.
the kids received Halloween cards from a cousin and one of their grandparents and i stayed up until midnight (this is RARE!!!) editing WITL photos and catching up on paperwork.
and that is it! see you with day 4 tomorrow... xoxo!

week in the life | 9/15, Sunday...
ok, finally done. as usual, this was a fun project to participate in and i'm happy w/ the end results. this is the only time of year i actually update my blog seven days in a row. so, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by this week and for putting up w/ all my fb link posts to my blog... photo count for the day was only 31... ---> visit Ali's blog to find out more about this project
Ty & his friends always end up on the couch watching movies into the wee hours of the night...
this pear didn't stand a chance this morning, ha...
met up w/ my friend for our Sunday morning power walk...
breakfast at Panera. i had their steel cut oats, was good but not as good as mine ;)
a little retail therapy after breakfast and we bought some new workout clothes...
waited for the lady to price check a water bottle i bought that seemed to take her forever...
arrived home to find everyone upstairs, Corinne tried to hide under the sheets...
not sure what my husband was thinking working out w/out his sneakers and then he complained how the his heals were hurting him afterwards...
i also went to Target before coming home and bought Corinne a few quick and easy fall crafts to put together. she started working on them before i even pulled them out of the bag...
pulled laundry and had fun playing w/ the static and Corinne's hair, hehehe...
all you need is lite cool whip and low fat graham crackers and you have yourself a really delicious ice cream sandwich!!! i add sprinkles around the sides for my kids, too. they love it...
selfies on the couch (i am so tired at this point... the girl and i took a little break before dinner and watched two food shows on the travel channel. we were practically salivating the entire time...
while the kids showered, i debated about cleaning up my desk after working on one all week long (it NEVER takes me that long to work on one layout, but i'm not in the most creative mood when the man is out of town either...
story time for Corinne...
xo...
