Page Maps + Paper Smooches | a friendly card...
back with another project share today... i participated in PageMaps April card sketch this month and i happily used our sponsor, Paper Smooches, adorable Talk Bubble stamps and Speech Bubble dies. i'm not much of a card maker, but i really love making them when the inspiration hits. my card doesn't really look much like the sketch, but was definitely created with several elements from the sketch into my design.
thanks for stopping by... have an awesome day, take care... xo!
PageMaps | April sketch layout, Spring...
hey all...
i meant to have this up yesterday, but was sidetracked... anyway, sharing my layout today created based on PageMaps April 12x12 layout sketch. lots of great sketches to inspire your creativity this month. Spring is my favorite season, i just love to get my hands dirty into the earth. now that it's warm and sunny, i'm eager to get moving on our herb and vegetable gardens and i'm hoping this year we will have success w/ a few vegetables that weren't so successful last year. but we will see. i'm sure it has a lot to do w/ soil, weather, pests, even the gardener ;) ha!

a collaboration | Gossamer Blue + PageMaps...
edited to add: all kits are sold out, except for the Life Pages kit!! hurry over and get yours now!
happy Saturday friends! i'm glad it's February already, means Spring is that much closer... YES!
it also means Gossamer Blue's February kits, designer gallery and life pages gallery are LIVE! this months kit is CRAZY good! my word, it's jaw dropping good people! i loved everything... the colors, printables, digital cut files, GB exclusive papers and stamps... just lovely! we teamed up with PageMaps, a free sketch resource for scrapbookers and cardmakers alike.
ok, below is the sketch i was sent to work with and my layout...
i was mostly inspired by the cupcake pattern in the sketch by using the honeycomb digital cut file, the main element in the design.
i'm a sucker for using teeny tiny photos on a page and i love using them w/in geometric shapes. each shape was embellished with a little bit of everything from February's Main Kit, including printables, digital cut files and exclusive stamps.
images were taken last year on our 11th anniversary last year in a photo booth... i tried scanning and restoring the images, but it took too long and i didn't get the result i was hoping for. so, i used the original images.
i really love this months exclusive papers by One Little Bird and Traci Reed. they were so pretty... i almost didn't want to cut them up. i like how the black and white text and pink houndstooth pattern papers compliment shades of blue, white and pink on the page.
to finish the page, i used a white pin to frame the background instead of machine stitching.
thanks so much for stopping by. i hope you can get you hands on this months amazing kits before they are sold out. you will really enjoy creating w/ all that goodness! be sure to check out PageMaps for more sketch inspiration.
...xo!
Lily Bee Design | Page Maps
this month Lily Bee Design has the pleasure of working with Becky Fleck creator of Page Maps . sketches are a huge part of scrapbooking. about 95% of every layout i create i sketch out a several designs in my head and jot them down for reference. many times though, i'll use a Page Maps sketch to give my creativity a jolt. and many times my layouts won't look like the actual sketch. however, there are many times when i am given or find a sketch that i really like, i'll stick w/ the actual design and go from there.
this sketch presented to me put a smile on my face. i LOVED that it's different from my usual design. all the different layers really grabbed my attention.
for my page, i pretty much stuck w/ the overall design down to the stitching. however, i added two photos and moved my journaling towards the bottom of the page instead of in the center. i even played around w/ the strips of pattern paper to make ticket stubs, arrows, etc. out of them for interests, like in the sketch.
and for the first time, i mixed all three Lily Bee collections on this layout, something i've not done in a while or at all since they've been available. i love how they all correlate so well on my page.
if you have time, be sure to check out this months sketch layouts from the rest of the team and definitely challenge yourself to using Becky's amazing sketch designs here. she has a ton of variations in all sorts of sizes based on your scrapbooking or cardmaking preference.
