Gossamer Blue | scallop hearts decor....

Good morning... My project share over on Gossamer Blue's blog went live on Sunday. I created a home decor project to fill three open spots in a frame that has been empty for several years. I made three paper scallop hearts, cut out using my Cameo to finally fill in frame. I saved three pretty pattern papers from the January kits that and embellish each one with some wood veneer and acrylic accents. The color palette I chose contrasts nicely with our home decor... as I slowly add in some dark blues and light tans.

an inspiring jeweller...

I know I've shared a link about her through Facebook a while back, but this video she shares more and talks about how she's adapted in creating her jewelry. She's so inspiring...

Gossamer Blue | hello beautiful...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HI!!!! It's been a while since I've shared a layout and I just can't get enough of my girl posing with her hands on her hips... LOVE! she kills me every time, my little fashionista. These images of her are from around the Christmas holidays back in 2013... her hair is much longer, she's taller and smarter! love her to pieces!

My page uses bits and pieces from all three Gossamer Blue collections, Get Happy, Gramercy Road and On My Desk. My layout is one of many similar designs I like to use when creating 8.5x11 layouts, a cluster of photos anchored at the bottom of the page, with title and elements designed around them. I love the flow of framed (and unframed) photos randomly placed and overlapping each other and the pages background. The page foundation is light, subtle with light blues and b&w tones. I wanted the red from her shirt to pop, center the focus on the images/story at hand along with speckles of reds throughout the page.

Gossamer Blue | keeping warm...

well, looks like we here in VA are finally being hit with a cold blast of winter. i'm a little bummed about it. i mean, i love winter time when the fireplace is roaring out heat, i get to add to my scarf collection or i find an excuse not to leave the house when it's below 35 degrees. but old man winter has spoiled us with 40 and 50 degree temps that these 30 and 11 degree temps are just not fun. oh well, i can't complain too much, since we don't have to worry about -0 degree temps or lower, huh?!

so, i have another layout share using Gossamer Blues January kits... this one was made using a mix of pretty papers and embellies from the main kit add-ons and life pages kit add-ons. i even tossed in a bit of gold... can never get tired of adding gold elements to my pages.

the layout encompasses a simple negative space affect using words describing the goodness in a cup of hot chocolate my kids enjoy after a few hours playing in the snow. the color palette is left neutral so to not lose focus on the photos, randomly placed, tucked behind the pages foundation page. adore Tyler's smile and Corinne's relaxed mood.

Gossamer Blue | January is here...

oh happy happy happy NEW YEAR!!!

i'm super excited it's 2015 and so ready to start the new year off right with lots and lots of creativity. today's creative project share, a layout pumped with rich, bold colors that i am so stoked about. when my Gossamer Blue kit arrived, i was giddy all over with excitement. yes, it's all about color and patterns for me. that makes me happy and dude, accenting it all with little bits of gold just made my day even better :)

one of the highlights of last year was playing out in the snow with my littles. i felt like a little kid and we all had a great time. i love that they were just as excited as i to capture a few selfies, without the attitude.... monumental! i'm taking all of what i can get because as they get older, selfies with mom is becoming slim to none.

i went many directions with this page. i really wanted to use a lot of pattern papers on my page with a twist in design. so i played with angles and lines and textures. once the design was set, my sewing machine was put to work. sewing made the page a little pillow-y, but it was all good. and... i finally stocked up on some vellum the previous month, so i am uber excited to add vellum accents to my page now. it's such a great accent to any page, i love how it breaks up the boldness of the colors on the page, softens it up. my favorite page thus far for the year.

be sure to pick up your own kit.. the January main kit ROCKS!! packed with lots of fun goodies and papers to start the new year off right, creatively... and it looks like this kit is sold out... YES!!

PageMaps | January sketch + layout...

oh how i love love love PageMaps January sketch design. the stitched lines, pattern blocking and great simplicity. i can totally see this sketch design being a go-to when i am in a creative stump. love it! i stuck with the original sket design adding my own elements to go with the story behind the photo. i also used a white pen to mark my lines... i was on a mission to make sure the lines were straight and even, which if i had machine stitched the lines, they would have been all over the place, ha!

i know it's a little early for Valentine's page to go up, but i couldn't resist. i was already in that mode when completely other layouts for GB. so of course, i used the perfect image of my favorite little people for this months sketch... another favorite from 2014, YES! the kids loved their big red lips in their Valentine's gift basket. as soon as i asked them to stand together so i can get a picture wearing their red lips, their personalities immediately shined!!!

thanks so much for stopping by... enjoy your day, xo!
