Gossamer Blue | December Memories blog hop...

Hey Hey, Hello!

can you believe Christmas is around the corner? i'm surprised it's creeping up as fast as it is... but super excited at the same time! i'm not even done with all of my gift shopping. i fell a little behind this year, but as usual, i look forward to find the 'hope it's the right' gift for our love ones! none the less, the holiday's always put me in the spirit of creating and that's documenting our lives throughout for 25 days with the ever so awesome December Memories kit, YES!

i've had a lot going on these last few weeks and haven't had the chance to really sit down to create my fondation pages. so, i decided to keep it simple and just create each daily page as i go. sometimes the pressure of getting all the foundation pages done can be overwhelming let alone trying to make sure that days photo fits the page inserts. trying to rearrange everything can be a bit time consuming. that is why i've decided to just go with the flow without the stress of feeling overwhelmed. i'm really looking forward to how we spend our 25 days of holiday cheer.

today, i have my album cover and cover page completed... i used the exclusive stamps and plastic word embellishments to decorate my cover page. i really love the look. love the angle of the thick pattern and the continuous flow.

tone-on-tone is a favorite technique of mine when creating projects. I went with that look for my cover page and will continue to do so throughout my entire album... giving the album a cohesive look along with keeping it simple.

good luck with your own December Memories album this year and have fun documenting your holiday memories. continue on over to Diane's blog for more holiday inspiration

golden...

over the past couple of months, i've made three of these eternity hearts necklace, in gold brass. the pendant suspends from a gold filled chain to boot. i love how the look of the gold tones and how they shimmer and contrast with the sterling silver. so, as requested, this new option will be added to both shops this afternoon...

Gossamer Blue | us...

this months project share is featured over at Gossamer Blue, a couples layout. something i rarely scrapbook because we rarely snap "selfies" or have them taken of us. so this was nice to dive into a layout project US! read more about the project on the GB blog...

Gossamer Blue | November Blog Hop...

hey everyone! welcome to another fun and inspirational blog hop, presented to you by the Gossamer Blue design team. we have lots of layouts, project life and cards to share with you using lots of goodies from the November kits.

if you're following along, you should have arrived here from Brenda Weaver blog. but no worries if you stumble, you can pick right back up beginning at GB's blog.

i am having fun creating extra projects for the blog hops lately, but at the same time, i've not been using the printables as much as i would like. so, i challenged myself to create a simple page doing just that. i used most of the circle elements from both the life pages and main kit printables. added a few stamp word accents, heart embellishments for balance and softened the journaling with vellum. a quick and easy layout all while still getting my story across.

this months color palette is so yum, lots of purples, teals, yellows... my faves! so, so good! i hope you are having fun creating with your November kits. challenge yourself to create with just a few sets of elements and see what comes of it.

now on to Diane's blog... happy creating :)

Gossamer Blue | more November kit inspiration...

the pattern papers i used in for the background page can be found in add-on #2 kit, which is already sold out. i'm a sucker for woodgrain pattern papers, but when i saw the birch paper, i was in heaven. this page was originally going to be created in the 8.5x11 size, but the photo and elements covered too much of the birch. so, 12x12 page was in order...

i like how square and rectangle blocks compliment each other... totally inspired by my PageMaps November sketch layout. another simple design, using a mix of embellishments with different surface textures. the glitter word title especially adds pop to this all by tween page.

if you haven't yet, November main add-on kit is still available... be sure to grab it before it's gone!! i hope you enjoy creating with the November kits as much as i have. it's really a great one!!

xo

PageMaps | November sketch...

FINALLY, getting around to sharing some layouts i've created this month... here is the November PageMaps sketch design i chosed to create my layout for the month...

each months sketch is always fun and seeing the layout come together makes it that much more fun. i really love this sketch. it's the simple with linear details in it's design with a few randomness all around. bounced colors off the images to complete my page... white, blacks, pinks and blues. i love the overall feel of the color palette and design.

each block is simply layered with simple, cohesive elements and embellished with paper, plastic and wooden accents. i also used some of the new stamps to create a border along the top of the large pattern border and another one i created into an embellishment.

last year my friend Penny and i spent a lovely day visiting one of the many lovely museums downtown Richmond. we don't get to see each other very often anymore, but when we do, every second is cherished.

have a lovely week.... xo!

WITL | day 7...

the last and final day... our day of relaxation!

i used today to rest my ankle. the week was long, busy and productive, yet FUN! so i pretty much just sat around with my feet up. days like today are much needed... everyone was up a little 7am (that's sleeping in for me) and about 40 images captured today...

Tyler grabbed the paper for me and complained about having to do it then he quickly ran upstairs to watch Catching Fire all while giving me the third degree about taking his picture...ha!

walked passed the mans office and he's busy playing a game, all bundled up in his thick sweater... Nala chewing on her rawhide bone.

i sat to watch the new Transformers movie, which i loved, with my cup of coffee and Sunday paper i have yet to read still and we enjoyed bacon sandwiches for breakfast.

Nala napping while i watched my 3rd movie... i know. while i relaxed off my feet, Tim & Corinne took the time to put my Ikea cart together for me. that was a huge help. so sweet of them...

Tyler sat on the floor to watch a Netflix movie w/ me and Corinne rolled my her AG dolls around the house in my cart.

found more of Corinnes toys chillin inside my cart while she was playing a game on my tablet...

Tried convincing Tyler to help w/ a few things downstairs, but he bailed and so the man and i ventured outside to clean up the garden beds...

it's expected to freeze overnight... harvesting all the sweet potatoes and tomatoes was imperative...

my sage bush is three or four years old. it has survived many winters and sprung back like crazy. but, it's taking over my herb garden. the dirt in front is where i removed the small thyme bush that was being hovered by the sage bush and replanted it on the back side. then we went out front to plant some tulip bulbs (so last minute) and hope they make it and blossom nicely in the spring...

our yard lighting hasn't been working well lately, so Tim cleaned up the tops and here is our big bucket of veggies we harvested. a batch of beets didn't turn out but i have some in the fridge already that did very well.

back inside i enjoyed a couple of truffles i bought at the farmers market Saturday...crazy amazing good; watched a movie w/ the kids and prepared dinner...

thanks to for taking a peek in this weeks WITL project... xo!

WITL | day 6...

Saturday was super cold, windy and wet! a day where i'd normally be inside relaxing, watching a few movies or binging on episodes i've missed over the past week. but instead, i decided to spend the day out & about with my friend and the kids...

only about 25 to 30 images captured, i was being lazy on the photos today...

after waking, having a cup of coffee while editing photos, i quickly got dressed to spend the morning with my neighbor friend, Carolyn, we spent our morning shopping at the farmers market and warmed up over another cup of coffee at Starbucks... the caramel brulee... YUMMY! so sweet and so good!

arrived home to find Tim helping Corinne sort through her trick or treating loot...

i had promised the kids i would take the shopping, since they missed out shopping for clothes and shoes before school... this was their moment. went to two different Kohl's until we found the right Adidas shoes Ty searched for via the web...

Corinne really liked the shoe w/ the heel... we didn't get it because she has enough shoes. it was all about clothes and a few accessories...

home to find my Etsy reader has arrived and then i had to snip off a loooonnnnnnggggg, strand of hair because we watched too much of the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and she thought it was a good idea to put gum behind her ear... sigh!!!

by the time we arrived home from shopping, we ate dinner. the boys then migrated onto the couch to watch the first Hunger Games (after not allowing him to watch this movie, he was stoked that he finally had permission to watch w/ his dad) and the girls quickly put on our jammies and lounged in bed to watch Hotel Transylvania with popcorn and carbonated liquid, ha!

the day was a great day! i really enjoyed spending quality time w/ my girlfriend and taking the kids out shopping. it's fun watching them pick out what they like and seeing how our styles are so different. and this time around, they had patience and made it that much more fun to shop without the bickering and whining to finish up... xo!

WITL | day 5...

phew... what a day! Friday was crazy busy and it was all worth it! i was super tired by the time we arrived home after 930 pm. my day started super early, like 430 early! WHOA! i don't know what was wrong w/ me. i guess the excitement of the day upcoming day and trying to complete a few things off my "list" was on the mind. didn't sleep much!

anyway, i captured over 70 images Friday. here are a few from our day...

trying a new brew & yes, it was strong! they boy wrapping himself up in his blanket, not wanting to get up and go to school. lots of tickling to get him out of bed.

new shower curtain we picked up at Ikea the day before... wanted to get something that worked for both the kids. Tyler heading off to school!

Corinne was a little slow moving this morning and she gets up as early as Tyler does. she tends to wander a bit, playing or drawing, which leads into rushing the last 15 minutes before the bus arrives. managed to whip up a bowl of steal cut oats w/ frozen blueberries and local honey...

drove her to school, since we were super late for the bus. home to clean up and work on some editing for a few projects i have going on at the same time and watched Kelly & Michael in the process.

at work today we assisted the designer (florist) prepare flowers and corsages for an upcoming wedding and a high schools homecoming.... this was fun!

i dashed over to Party City to pick up a costume.. so last minute! raced home to change and get the kids and i ready for the Halloween party.

Ty's best friend, Liam arrived and it was time for photos. picked up my friend Carolyn :) she rocked her costume, i love it so much! so fun!

while the adults played, the kids went off w/ teenagers to trick or treat... really fun night!!!

the waitress and Bob Seger... SO AWESOME!

Madonna w/ her producer and i just LOVE LOVE Mikes mini cocktail glasses...

i love a good Cab, but this Merlot was super delish!!! and yes, there was some REALLY good Tequila...

baby Lily arrived and was non-stop! love that girl! and the girls, us in all our glory :)

a very long day, but so much fun... xoxo!!
