mini envelope explosion...

I hope you are enjoying Saturday afternoon.  While I'm waiting to have my eye brows plucked and waxed, thought I'd take this time to share a layout I created using Gossamer Blues February kits... and yes, I loaded it up with a bunch of mini envelopes.

it's a Blog Hop | Elle's Studio + Gossamer Blue

Happy Monday everyone! if you arrived here from Becki's blog, you're in the right place.

i was super excited to find an abundance of Elle's Studio pretties in our February kits. the products so are lovely... a wonderful combination of colors and patterns put together in the Love You More collection. i was a little addicted and used 98% Elle's Studio goodies on my "We Miss You" project, but would perfectly work well with Gossamer Blue's February exclusive papers!

the foundation of my page uses a bunch of hearts in different sizes and style. used my Cameo to cut them out in an angle... love the flow. each heart is embellished with a mix of Elle's Studio pattern papers against the white background.

the above heart was created using leftover teeny paper dots, sandwiched between two hearts and vellum.

i added stitching around the seams of the background for extra texture and pops of hearts for depth. Elle's Studio wood veneer heats were added and adorned a simple touches of elements used on the page were

happy Saturday friends! i'm glad it's February already, means Spring is that much closer... YES!

it also means Gossamer Blue's February kits, designer gallery and life pages gallery are LIVE! this months kit is CRAZY good! my word, it's jaw dropping good people! i loved everything... the colors, printables, digital cut files, GB exclusive papers and stamps... just lovely! we teamed up with PageMaps, a free sketch resource for scrapbookers and cardmakers alike.

  

ok, below is the sketch i was sent to work with and my layout...

i was mostly inspired by the cupcake pattern in the sketch by using the honeycomb digital cut file, the main element in the design.

i'm a sucker for using teeny tiny photos on a page and i love using them w/in geometric shapes. each shape was embellished with a little bit of everything from February's Main Kit, including printables, digital cut files and exclusive stamps.

images were taken last year on our 11th anniversary last year in a photo booth... i tried scanning and restoring the images, but it took too long and i didn't get the result i was hoping for. so, i used the original images.

i really love this months exclusive papers by One Little Bird and Traci Reed. they were so pretty... i almost didn't want to cut them up. i like how the black and white text and pink houndstooth pattern papers compliment shades of blue, white and pink on the page.

to finish the page, i used a white pin to frame the background instead of machine stitching.
