Gossamer Blue | May, Project 12

hello...

it's that time again. i have another completed entry in my project life book. this month is all about the month of May, using Gossamer Blue's amazing August kits...

This month color palette was rich and worked perfectly with my photos. A good mix of soft and bold tones. For my project 12 entry this month, I typed up all my journaling and printed onto plain white cardstock and embellished with stickers, stamps and machine stitching. Documenting this way actually sped up the process of completing my entry for the month of May. I really loved that and the clean look to the overall spread is a nice change.

There were a few special moments during this month where I wanted to use more than one photo from that event. One was a surprise shopping trip to the American Girl doll store with my daughter on her sixth birthday and other images from when we spent a weekend camping with my sons cub scout pack. The 8.5x11 page projector was trimmed to size, removing two columns making the insert approximately 2.75x11.

I also used a variety of elements from all the kits, digital files and 3x4 cards, which were part of the Life Pages kit. I trimmed them down to fit inside my smaller page inserts. On the first page, the word 'May' is anchored on this months digital die-cut and I used several of the stamps to embellish my entry.

The second page, I wrapped the 12x12 border sticker strip around the 3x4 card above the photo to convey packaging, hence the package in the photo. I also tucked bits of sequence behind vellum 3x4 card for depth.

The month of May was quite productive and definitely the most fun month thus far in the year. We've had a mix of good times being with our friends, celebrating a birthday and Mother's day, embracing the outdoors, keeping active in our extra-curricular activities and trying new things.
